Every year we like to cap off the season with a get together to celebrate another ski season. It’s one last chance to talk about trail explored and maybe a race completed. It’s also a time to talk about summer event. Pizza will be served. Please bring a “side” and your own drinks:

We will have a presentation from Rauof on preparing your bike for the coming season. He will show us the proper way to repair a flat tire as well as adjustments to keep our bikes in tiptop condition.
We will also enjoy a tour of the shop and see (buy?) all the new cool stuff that SPOKES has in stock. Should be a great start to the biking season.

enjoy one of the craft beers that Emmett’s has on hand. Come early and have supper!
Plan Ahead: March will be here before we know it, and our focus will shift to the spring/summer/fall
seasons. Spokes located in Danada East in Wheaton, will host our March meeting and
will demonstrate some basic bicycle maintenance and we will have a chance to check out
what’s new in the world of biking. Details to follow.
The Nordic Foxes now have a Facebook page! “Like us” using the link in the column to the right. Post your pictures of your ski adventures! Facebook will contain up to the minute changes – just in case we don’t have any snow (ha ha ha!)

Description: We will meet at the west entrance off Herrick Rd (1/2 mile south of Butterfield Rd) at 9 AM.
We will ski or hike (if no snow) for 1-2 hours then go to Chili’s for lunch at Danada Square (2 miles east on Butterfield Rd). Those whowant more skiing can return to either Herrick Lake or Arrowhead. Rentals are available at the nearby Arrowhead GolfClub just off Butterfield Rd.

Description: The South Kettle Moraine State Park is a beautiful ski just north of Lake Geneva, WI. About a 2 hour drive for most, this location has groomed trails for classic and skate skiing. Trail is set weekly. Suitable for all levels of ski ability. Great warming hut if you need to take a little break. Generally the group will ski from 10 am to noon and then go down the road to LaGrange General Store for lunch and then ski from 1 pm to 3 pm.

Illinois Largest State Park! This park, just off of I-90, is located on the Northeast side of Rockford. The trails are mainly groomed for classic skiing. After skiing, we’ll go for some lunch nearby.
This is a beautiful location within 1-2 hours of our area.
We will be meeting at the Red Oak Shelter at 10am. Enter at the Main Entrance of the park and follow the signs to Concessions.
Cross-country skis and snowshoes can be rented through Concessions.
I-90 West to Rockford. Take the Highway 173 Exit. Go West for one-half mile to the Park Entrance. For more information about the Rockford Area, please visit the Rockford Visitors Bureau
