Description: This is one of my favorite trips. The South Kettle Moraine State Park is a beautiful ski area just north of Lake Geneva, WI. An easy 2-hour drive puts you on a trail that is groomed for both classic and freestyle skiers. The trail is set weekly. There is both easy and challenging terrain for both beginning and intermediate skiers. We’ll plan to ski from 10-12, have lunch in LaGrange (just 2 miles away) and return for skiing from 1-3PM.
Nordic Fox Ski Lessons 2015
Sunday January 4th
Arrowhead Golf Club
26W151 Butterfield Rd.
Wheaton, IL 60189
12 Noon until 2PM
Weather permitting, Jim, Art and Ron will conduct a group ski lesson for any member who wants to participate. We will divide into small groups based on level of experience. Novice skiers wanting to learn the basic technique of the diagonal stride to advanced skiers wanting to improve their technique are invited. Ski Rentals are available at Arrowhead Golf Club. We will meet behind the golf club building just outside the rental door. From there we will ski to an area that will permit the lessons to take place. There might be a ski race at the golf club that morning which will cause some congestion. If the congestion is too much we will relocate to the north entrance of Herrick Lake about ½ mile west of the golf club entrance. Call Ron 630-854-9456 if you have any questions.

Time to get out and have some fun! This outing has been scheduled twice and has been cancelled due to really rotten weather. Well…NOT this time! (At least that is the hope.) You don’t need a mountain bike as you can rent from Backyard Bikes and Ski, the link is below. You can go on line and make your rental arrangements, for a nice fully suspended bike. No mountain biking experience required, just a sense of adventure and a willingness to try something new. These are trails that we have skied so it will be real interesting to see them in grass! Come on out! It will be awesome!!!! Lunch can be had at the LaGrange General Store. Be sure to bring along fluids/snacks to keep up your energy on the trails. See you in LaGrange!!
