Time to get out and have some fun! This outing has been scheduled twice and has been cancelled due to really rotten weather. Well…NOT this time! (At least that is the hope.) You don’t need a mountain bike as you can rent from Backyard Bikes and Ski, the link is below. You can go on line and make your rental arrangements, for a nice fully suspended bike. No mountain biking experience required, just a sense of adventure and a willingness to try something new. These are trails that we have skied so it will be real interesting to see them in grass! Come on out! It will be awesome!!!! Lunch can be had at the LaGrange General Store. Be sure to bring along fluids/snacks to keep up your energy on the trails. See you in LaGrange!!
Where: Meet at the Loop Auto Park, 524 South Wabash Avenue, Chicago, (located on the northwest corner of Wabash and East Harrison Street)
When: 9:00 a.m.
Parking Fee $12.00
This is a comfortable bike ride from Buckingham Fountain south along the beautiful lake front bike path down to Promontory Point Park. We will tour Hyde Park and find a spot for lunch. We will then head back north to where we parked. For some bonus sight seeing we can add on a ride through Northerly Island (Meigs Field).
As an alternative to driving, you can bring your bike downtown via Metra. See the Metra website for details.
Don’t forget your bike helmet and a lock.

What: 7th Annual HKF Memorial Hike
Where: Lake Geneva, WI
When: Meet at 9:00 a.m. – see below
Lake Geneva was one of Harold’s favorite hikes. The hike will be a little different again this year. We will take a boat ride and then hike. We board the mail boat in Lake Geneva and cruise to Williams Bay, then hike about 7.5 miles along the north shore back to Lake Geneva. The public access path near the north shore takes us by many old and new mansions. See how the fabulously wealthy live! Check out the landscaping and gardens. We also walk through secluded wooded areas as well.
Meet: Near the library at the Riviera Docks at 9:00 am. The library is located on the corner of Main St. (Rt. 50) and Cook St. Parking is available on the residential side streets across from the library on Madison St. and Warren St.
Boat Ticket Office: Opens at 9:00 am The boat leaves at 9:30am Sharp! The mail has to be delivered. Price of boat ride $20.50
Bring along snacks and fluids for hike. Easy pace with rest stops.
