The Western UP is known for early and large amounts of snow, and we hope it works this year. Our favorite place to ski, ABR, is one of the best cross country ski destinations in the Midwest and is famous for their impeccable trail grooming. Miners Park and Wolverine Trails are just minutes away. Other possible ski destinations, less than two-hour drives, are the Porcupine Mountain Trials, Minocqua Winter Park and the Birkie Trial System. Three downhill ski areas are also close by. Snowshoeing, a Stormy Kromer factory tour and shopping are alternatives too.

Sunday we can drive to Minocqua Winter Park Minocqua Winter Park | A Northwoods Ski & Recreation Facility For All Ages and meet either late morning or early afternoon to ski for a few hours before driving to the AmericInn in Ironwood. More info. to follow depending on snow conditions.
